Oh my Emmy!

Though there were many gorgeous looks strolling down the red carpet at the Emmys, the clear standout was drop-dead gorgeous Hayden Panettiere. Flawless skin paired with deep, dramatic eyes equals a classically glamorous look we are all dying to copy.

Want to copy this look for yourself?
To make it easy for you, here is our cheat sheet how...

Skin: Though the eyes make the biggest statement, the foundation of this look is…just that, foundation! To achieve the flawless skin that Hayden flaunted as she rocked the red carpet, start with the mineral fusion pressed base in your perfect shade. Brush on sheer layers of it using the flawless brush until ideal coverage is attained.

Cheeks: To get that rosy, sun-kissed glow, simply dust mineral fusion bronzer in sparkle around the perimeter of your face, hairline, cheekbones, and lightly down the bridge of your nose. (Make sure to blend this color through your jaw line and onto your neck, chest and even shoulders too! Though Halloween is close you don’t want to look like you are wearing a mask…) Apply mineral fusion blush in creation to the apples of the cheeks for a healthy, natural flush of color. Mist with the hydration mist to set the minerals (mist a little more to leave skin slightly dewy).

Eyes: Since the liner is pretty intense, all that is needed on the eyelid is a nude finish. Sweep mineral fusion eye shadow in buff over the entire eyelid using the eye base brush. Follow with eye shadow in stone applied in the crease using the eye contour brush.

Here’s where things get fun. Lightly line all the way around the eyes using mineral fusion eye pencil in coal, a rich, elegant black. Make sure the line stays very narrow towards the inner corner of the eye. Take the eye liner/brow brush and slightly smudge the liner to soften it up a bit. If you want a smokier look, first line the eye with mineral fusion eye liner in volcanic, a foggy gray, followed by coal then blend the two colors together. Generously layer mineral fusion mascara in graphite to amp up lashes.

Lips: Dark, mysterious eyes call for chic, pale lips. Smooth on super moisturizing mineral fusion lip stick in impressive. Layer mineral fusion gloss in sheen over for extra shine and luster and you are ready for the red carpet darling!

One word for you girls - BLEND!

The essential trick to always achieving a great look is having a great tool to blend, blend, blend. Let’s take eyes, for example. You should never be able to tell where one shadow color ends and another begins...to make sure this is the case, after applying color, blend the lid with a dry brush (I like to use the angled eye brush) so that it has a nice fade effect. Do you wear liner? Never - I repeat, never - leave a line on your lid unblended (unless you’re going for a Dita VonTeese sexy cat eye…or your Amy Winehouse). Start with the eyeliner/brow brush and make sure it is dry and clear of any previous makeup. Then, begin to soften the line by dragging it ever so lightly back and forth over liner. This brush has more firmness than other eye brushes so if you are sensitive at the lash line, use a softer touch. You can smudge a little or a lot depending on the effect you are trying to achieve.

Here’s a simple, yet stunning look to try:
To complement the luxurious grays and soft neutrals from fall fashions, try a delicate shade of eye shadow (I love light – it’s a perfect subtle pink) offset by the cool gray of volcanic eye liner – nice, smudgy and blended of course. Pair with a luscious plum for fall and voila! Gorgeous! Swap your fall lip shade for a nude lip come spring and you have a look that will take you through 2 seasons – as shown by the lush looks seen at Diane von Furstenberg and Charlotte Ronson Spring 2009 shows at NY Fashion Week.

Make that gorgeous summer glow last...

Now that summer is sadly coming to a close, here is a great way to keep that bronzy glow going year-round. Apply mineral fusion bronzer in sparkle as a base under your blush. A light application will warm up your skin tone, especially when your skin is lighter as your summer glow fades away. Then add a rosy or soft pink blush like creation or airy to brighten up the cheeks. To glam it up for evening go with flashy or impact to really make the color pop.

And if you soaked up too many rays (admit it - we all did), make sure you don't forget your hydration mist! The hot, summer sun has no doubt taken a toll on your skin, leaving it dry and begging for moisture...this refreshing spray will keep you cool during the last summer days while adding moisture to the skin and setting your make up to last all day (how's that for multi-tasking?!).
